celebrates 10 year anniversary.
PCI recently celebrated its tenth anniversary in business.
Since its launch in 1997, the company has gone from strength to
strength in development and management of large scale projects,
the provision of secure web hosting facilities and retail point
of sale applications.
Ten years on, PCI's primary focus is in the development
of solutions for An Post subsidiaries, customers and business partners.
Solutions developed and implemented by PCI facilitate the delivery
of a range of diverse services and products on behalf of An Post
customers at Post Office retail counters. PCI solutions empowered
by Riposte™ deliver welfare payments, banking transactions,
gift vouchers, state-backed savings and investments, prize bonds,
mobile phone topups, bill payments and passport express.
PCI is responsible for the support and implementation
of the IT infrastructure underpinning this diverse range of retail
transactions carried out at all of An Post's automated Post Offices
countrywide. PCI is also responsible for the development and maintenance
of the IT infrastructure underpinning the Postpoint retail network,
on behalf of Postbank.
PCI has in the past achieved several industry awards
for some of the projects it has been involved with, including a
Golden Spider award for Web Site design, World Mails award for billpay.ie
web-based bill payment service, and a Smithsonian Institute medal
for Riposte.
In recent years, PCI has invested considerable effort
in adopting best practice standards in Information Security, achieving
external certification to ISO 27001 and ISO 17799 standards. Guided
by international best practice, this focus on improving security
and quality in IT governance and operations generally is set to
continue for PCI as business demands greater protection from risks
relating to the use of Information and Communications Technologies.
